We are making excellent progress towards this years needed goal of $8,000 for our second ASP Mission trip! We are proud to be sending two teams back to Kentucky this year. However, we still need help! We are in need of approximately $2500 more to reach our total goal. It is through everyone’s prayers, support, and generous donations that we can reach this. Feel free to mail in a donation or even come on out to our upcoming Mother/Daughter dinner!
Just a quick update! The WAY has reached their goal and actually has surpassed it by over $1,000.00 The church will be worshipping and commisioning our youth on Saturday June 30 at 7:00 pm. Come out to join the worship and following the worship, Pastor King will uphold the covenant made with the youth and will receive his mohawk.
As the fund rasing for ASP continues and donations come in. It appears our goal of $4000.00 will soon be met. Along with that Pastor Josh’s hair will be cut, as he agreed to wear a Mohawk for the entire week of the ASP Mission trip.( Look for Pictures after July 1,)
Currently The WAY has approximately $2400. This means we are $1600 away from our minimum goal for ASP. This may not seem like a lot, but its crunch time. With only two months left, it’s time to crack down. All donations are appreciated in order to reach our goal by July 1, 2012. Please refer to my previous post containing our letter asking for donations for more information about our mission trip.
God bless and Happy Mother’s day!
We are currently sending this letter out in hopes of donations to reach our goal for ASP. Feel free to read it. It will provide details about ASP and how to donate to help our cause.
Dear Friends and Family,
I am sending this to you because I am fund raising for a youth mission trip to Appalachia Service Project (ASP) on July 1 – 7,2012. ASP’s goalis to make homes warmer, safer and drier for needy families. Some of the projects my youth and I may be working on include insulating repairing roofs and many other tasks. For more information on ASP, you can go to asphome.org.
I am hoping through my experiences to learn about how others live, to be the hands and feet of God, and to show His love to this community.
For my youth group and me to participate it will require us to raise $4000. We have begun fund raising by selling Christmas holiday candy, Valentine’s Day candles and a “parent’s night out” babysitting. Currently we have raised approximately $1500. We are still in need of $2500. If you are able, any donation would be greatly appreciated. Please make checks payable to Red Valley UMC and put “youth” in memo. Please send any donations to me or to Red Valley UMC, 30 Red Valley Rd, Boones Mill, Va. 24065
Along with fund raising I am attending training and courses to prepare me for the challenges I will face. I am asking for your support through not only donation but through prayers.

The WAY is our new found youth group at Red Valley United Methodist Church in Franklin County, VA. The WAY stands for Welcome All Youth. We hope to have a fun and welcoming environment for youth to come and praise and worship our lord. We meet Sundays nights and enjoy great fellowship and fun. Our leaders, Pastor Joshua King and Dwain Severs provide us with bible lessons and guides us in the right direction. We also get help from Trish Severs as well, who normally provides us with excellent meals 🙂
The WAY is currently planning a mission trip this summer of 2012. We are working with ASP or Appalachia Service Project. We will be travelling somewhere in West Va July 1-7 to help repair a renovate the home of a family in need. We are currently working to raise money for this mission trip. We will need about $4000. But we are halfway there!
